$130,000 - $170,000 + 0.75% – 1% + bonus

Your opportunity

We’re supporting an emerging fintech company that is giving people more control over their finances and living situations by transforming how they handle one of their largest monthly expenses - housing payments. Already processing hundreds of millions in annual transactions, and with over $5 million in venture funding, a stable runway, strong product-market fit, and a clear path to profitability, this team is well poised to scale its core platform and continue building out an ambitious roadmap. If you’re interested in working on novel financial products that improve access to credit and housing, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Head of Growth to drive user acquisition, engagement, and brand expansion. In this role, you will take charge of a significantly expanded marketing budget, oversee strategic partnerships, and implement data-driven growth strategies. Working closely with product, engineering, and executive leadership, you will shape the next phase of consumer fintech solutions, helping to build a platform that reimagines how Canadians manage their housing and related financial transactions.

The team typically co-locates 2-3 days/week at an office near the Distillery District in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Growth strategy & execution: Developing and owning the overarching growth marketing strategy, focusing on high-impact channels (paid acquisition, organic, strategic partnerships, influencer collaborations) and setting clear performance metrics to inform data-driven optimization.

  • Channel & budget management: Overseeing a significantly increased marketing budget, collaborating with agency partners and in-house team members to allocate resources effectively, and ensuring on-time, on-brand campaign execution.

  • Data-driven attribution & insights: Establishing and refining multi-channel attribution models, transforming raw data into actionable insights that guide campaign strategies, user engagement, and product improvements.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with product, engineering, and design teams to align marketing initiatives with product roadmaps, ensuring a seamless user journey from acquisition to activation.

  • Team leadership & development: Mentoring and leading a small but growing marketing team (including external agency partners), championing a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and open communication.

  • Market positioning & partnerships: Identifying, evaluating, and executing key partnership opportunities—including a pending major strategic partner—to broaden reach, boost brand awareness, and accelerate user acquisition.

Your Know-How

  • 5+ years of experience in growth marketing (or a related role) within B2C industries; fintech experience is strongly preferred.

  • Proven success in scaling user bases and driving engagement through data-driven strategies, ideally at an early-stage or high-growth company.

  • Hands-on performance marketing expertise in paid channels (e.g., Facebook, Google Ads, programmatic) and a clear understanding of organic and viral growth levers (influencer, referral, social).

  • Proficient with marketing analytics and attribution tools; experienced in setting up performance dashboards, A/B tests, and multi-channel attribution models.

  • High-level strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable growth roadmaps—and the willingness to execute at a tactical level when needed.

  • Excellent communication & leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members, collaborate across departments, and convey complex concepts in accessible terms.

  • Adaptable & entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and pivoting strategies based on real-time data.

It’s a Bonus If…

  • You’ve worked on financial or payments-focused products (e.g., Stripe or other fintech platforms) and understand the compliance and security considerations of the space.

  • You have led or built out a growth marketing function from an early stage, potentially as a founding team member or early employee.

  • You’re well-versed in advanced analytics tooling (e.g., segment-based marketing, marketing automation platforms) or have implemented these systems from scratch.

  • You thrive in a fluid startup culture and can quickly learn to operate outside your comfort zone.
